Application and FAQs

The Family Medicine Residency Program will  be accessible to interested candidates via ERAS beginning in July 2017. Please contact Heather Lenix if you are unable to apply to our programs after that date.

There are 4 PGY-1 position openings for the July 1, 2018 start date. To apply for one of these positions please go to the

Application Requirements:

Before interviewing, we will need the following items via ERAS:
 

  • Completed ERAS application
  • Three (3) Letters of Recommendation
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Medical School transcript from the College of Osteopathic Medicine
  • Personal Statement
  • MSPE (Dean's Letter)- These will be sent out to the residency programs from the Medical Schools in October
  • COMLEX Score reports for Part I, II & PE. It is preferred that you have your COMLEX II score report submitted prior to your interview. All three score reports are required to be on file before your application will be considered for ranking in January.

We are unable to accept applications from Allopathic Medical Schools or Medical Schools outside of the United States at this time. We are unable to accept applications requiring ECFM, J-1 or H1-B sponsorship.

University Hospitals St. John Medical Center has a Non-Tobacco use policy. New hires are tested for all tobacco use as a part of the pre-employment lab screening process. Interviews will be scheduled with the Program Director, Senior Residents, and the Residency Program Coordinator.  You will be taken for a tour of both the Family Medicine Clinic and of the hospital. You will also be taken out to lunch with other applicants who are interviewing the same day.
